What are the forming processes for stainless steel seamless elbows?

2023,11, 20

Stainless steel seamless elbows are mainly used at the corners of pipelines and account for the largest proportion of many pipe fittings used in pipeline systems.
The forming process of stainless steel seamless elbow is shared as follows:
1. Forging process
The end or part of the pipe fitting is punched with the help of a swaging machine to reduce the outer diameter.
Common types of swage forging machines include rotary type, connecting rod type, and roller type.
2. Rolling process
Place the core inside the tube and push the outer circumference with a roller for round edge processing.
Rolling generally does not require a mandrel and is suitable for the inner round edge of thick-walled pipes.
3. Stamping process
Use a tapered core to expand the pipe end to the required size and shape on a punch.
4. Bending process
There are three bending methods: ① stretching method; ② stamping method; ③ roller method: there are 3-4 rollers, 2 fixed rollers, and 1 adjusting roller. The fixed roller distance is adjusted, and the finished pipe fitting is bent.
5. Bulging process
①Put the rubber in the tube, and use a punch to compress it from above until the tube bulges into shape; ②Hydraulic bulging: Fill the middle of the tube with liquid to make the tube bulge into the desired shape. This method is mostly used in bellows production.

Do you know what certificates a qualified stainless steel seamless elbow should have?
Stainless steel seamless elbows will cause cracks due to these reasons!
